Volunteers at Timberlake Outreach Center

I have had the privilege of working in many different departments here at the Open Door Mission, but the Volunteer Department as been my favorite, by far! This morning, May 23, I had a great group from 1st United Methodist Church in Red Oak, Iowa. Their youth group came and made the best of a great situation. These kids, ranging in ages from 5-13, said that they enjoyed serving here at the TOC because it helped them be more appreciative of what they have at home. These kids and their leaders helped sort and hang clothing, pick up empty hangers off of the shelves, and provided a great working environment with their spunky and fun attitudes! It is volunteers like these, that help the Timberlake Outreach Center and the Open Door Mission thrive on a daily basis. I look forward to working with more individuals and groups that come to volunteer at the Open Door Mission!
