Children and Youth Department

Here is a shout out from the Open Door Mission greatnimac (means great and magnificent), Children and Youth Department. School is back in session and our children are all plugged in. We have students from K-12.

We are thankful that as our Title I tutor lab is up and running. All the children will be placed on Success Maker, a program that measures the students academically in reading and mathematics, and then helps them progress one level at a time. I want to thank the Children & Youth Department staff for helping with homework in the tutoring lab and learning center while we were waiting for the lab to open. We are looking forward to our first Celebrate Education with the Southwest Kwanis Club in October.

The Children & Youth Department would like to send a big thank you to Dr. Dan Cravatt and 30 students from Nebraska Christian College for giving our children a great night out at the “Amazing Pizza Machine”. Each child had their own personal chaperone.

Please remember our youth here at Open Door Mission and pray that our children will be blessed and kept safe from the enemy.
