This past weekend, my son and I drove a young father of four staying at the Lydia House down to the bus line. It was misting, cold, and windy. Despite this weather, the man was cheerful, and shared that he had just rented a home.
He and his family have been living at the Lydia House for eight months. He is a cook out west, but does not have a car. Every work day he walks downtown to ride the bus to work, works his shift, rides the bus back downtown, and walks back to the Lydia House. What dedication.
This family is on their way to being homeless no more, thanks to so many that GIVE to Open Door Mission and Lydia House.
