Love in Action

When one of our shoppers at the Timberlake Outreach Center first came, she was having problems with one of her eyes.  It was very infected and she was afraid of losing it.  The woman told me she had an upcoming appointment with an eye doctor, so I asked if I could pray for her.
She agreed, so we prayed and as we prayed, she felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and started to cry.  God gave her a word that she will be healed.  He said that He was going to heal her through the doctor’s hands and medicine.
Then last week, she came in to visit and share her testimony of what God did in her life.  Her eye is healing, and it already looks completely better!
The woman share with me how very grateful she is that staff members and volunteers at the Timberlake Outreach Center take our time to listen beyond what our eyes can see.  It was wonderful to see her giving glory to God.
Every day as we go about our lives, let’s be ready to listen to the Holy Spirit to go beyond what we can see.  Let’s live out our purpose of being servants of God by sharing His love.

Love must be sincere.  Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.   Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.  Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.  Practice hospitality.  –Romans 12:9-13
